It seems as if almost every day, new issues emerge to test the plans and preparedness of business continuity professionals across the world. New, perpetually evolving technology, cyberattacks, natural disasters, pandemics, and a global economy all present new risks. And it’s up to BC pros to prepare for them. This can be easier said than done.

The 2022 Continuity Insights Management Conference will feature several presentations from companies representing various industries that will focus on emerging issues. Presenters will cover a wide range of topics that many BC pros will likely be faced with soon if they haven’t been working on them already. Rebuilding for Speed in the Post-Pandemic Era

As a result of the global pandemic, organizations have removed boundaries and have broken down silos in ways no one thought possible. Decisions and processes have been streamlined, front-line leaders have been empowered, and hierarchies and bureaucracies dismantled. It is vital that everyone understands why we can’t “return to normal,” but need to create a new normal that results in rethinking ways of working, re-imagining structure, and reshaping talent.

During this session, attendees will gain an understanding of how agility and adaptive capacity impacts decision-making before, during, and after a crisis; strategies for building a more resilient organization; and the importance of learning from the remote working experience and how hybrid working will impact both the worker and the workplace.

Will We Need Business Continuity in an AI World?

In the box office hit movie Minority Report, facial recognition software that bombarded Tom Cruise with targeted personal advertisements seemed futuristic. Less than 20 years later not only is it our reality, but people aren’t even surprised by it anymore. As Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning continue to become more sophisticated, organizations will rely on automated decision making not just when mitigating online and digital risks, but when responding to incidents. Will those decisions be the right ones? What happens if they’re not? Will a company be held liable if a machine makes “poor” decisions during a disaster? In this session we will look at if Business Continuity programs will be needed in an AI future, and if so, what they will look like.

How GDPR and CCPA May Impact Your BCM Program
