Continuity Insights Management Conference

The 2019 Continuity Insights Management Conference, scheduled for April 15-17 in New Orleans, will have two featured keynotes sharing their experience and expertise on topics that impact the resiliency and integrity of organizations large and small. These speakers will generate new ideas and discussion topics and challenge you to think about the resiliency of your business in a new light.

Internationally known author, technologist, and entrepreneur Pete O’Dell, will keynote day one with “Emerging Technology Impact: The “Need-to-Knows” for Business Continuity Professionals.”

Well-known “identity thief” Jim Stickley, CEO of Stickley on Security, will kick-off day 2 of the conference with his presentation, “Fraud is the New “F” Word.”

O’Dell is the author of Cyber 24-7: Risks, Leadership and Sharing and Silver Bullets: How Interoperable Data Will Revolutionize Information Sharing. His address will touch on 5G, IOT, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain sensors, drones, robots, and more – technologies that are no longer emerging, but are embraced by the business, and as a result, rapidly crossing our business continuity threshold.

Drawing upon a wealth of first-hand knowledge and experience, O’Dell will identify and discuss the various short and long-term implications, outline what the priorities should be for business continuity professionals, pinpoint which technologies matter, and debate when and how will it impact your BCM program.

As a technology consultant, board member, and entrepreneur, O’Dell’s extensive career covers software, manufacturing, distribution, and professional services. He was the President of Autodesk Retail Products, Chief Information Officer of MicroWarehouse, and Chief Operating Officer for several successful startups. He is a founder and director of Swan Island Networks, a cloud based situational awareness platform for physical and cyber information intelligence. He has had extensive interaction with the U.S. government in the areas of homeland security, critical infrastructure, information sharing, real-time situational awareness, and law enforcement.

As an introduction to Jim Stickley, you should know that he has stolen credit cards, hacked Social Security numbers, robbed banks, and created fake ATMs. He has broken into armed government facilities and has stolen from teenagers. He is an identity thief, but he is no criminal.

Fortunately for all victims involved, as CEO of Stickley on Security, Stickley is a cyber security expert with over 20 years in the industry who was hired to perform these attacks by corporations testing their security, news agencies investigating security concerns, and other media outlets interested in knowing just how easy it is to commit identity theft. His job is to find security flaws before the real criminals find them and warn people and organizations about what they can do to protect themselves.

When your customers and employees become victims of identity theft or fraud, it costs your organization time and money. In many cases, the incident could have been easily avoided if not for small mistakes. Using his incredible range of experience, Stickley will educate Continuity Insights Management Conference attendees on the latest identity and fraud threats. With his entertaining delivery style that makes these topics not only fun but understandable, Stickley will demonstrate how criminals think by actually showing new exploits and attacks in action and then uses these demonstrations to explain how they could be prevented.

Stickley has been involved in thousands of security services for financial institutions, Fortune 100 corporations, healthcare facilities, legal firms, and insurance companies. Through the years Stickley has discovered numerous security vulnerabilities in products such as firewalls, PKI servers, online banking applications, and PDA devices. He has been a consultant for the network stations FOXNEWS, CBS, and NBC as well as the Associated Press. Stickley has been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers including Time Magazine, Business Week, Fortune Magazine, New York Times, PC Magazine, CSO Magazine, and hundreds of other publications. He has also been showcased on numerous television shows including NBC’s “Nightly News”, CNN’s “NewsNight”, CNBC’s “The Big Idea”, Anderson Cooper’s “Anderson” and is a frequent guest on NBC’s “Today Show.”

Additionally, Stickley is the author of The Truth about Identity Theft, in which he walks readers through real life scams and exploits that people fall victim to everyday. He is also a co-author of Beautiful Security.

There’s still time to register for this year’s conference which will be held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans, Louisiana.
