Yup, it’s a thing. As the temperature rises, so does the risk of aggression and violence. For professionals in any discipline related to safety and security, in both the public and private sectors, this will be a growing concern over time as the planet continues to warm. As rough as it is right now, climate scientists continue to remind us that this is likely to be the coolest summer for the rest of our lives. It is time for us to begin recalibrating our violence prevention postures to mesh with this new reality.
