Continuity Insights Management Conference

As BC professionals, the terms business continuity and disaster recovery are part of our everyday lexicon. And while they go hand-in-hand, the individual concepts are unique and need to be addressed separately by business leaders.

While disaster recovery is the process of getting critical IT infrastructure and operations up and running in a certain amount of time following an outage, business continuity differs in that it is the process of getting the entire business back to full functionality after a crisis.

Eric Woodard, CEO of Protek Support, has outlined an excellent primer on the difference between DR and BC, which makes an excellent addition to any back-to-basics approach for BC planners.
