ACP/NY Metro Chapter Announces June Meeting Topic

The New York City Metro ACP Chapter has announced that “Cyber as a Tie to Crisis Management” will be the topic of discussion at its June meeting. The session will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2019 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at MLMIC Insurance Company, 2 Park Avenue, New York, NY.

During this presentation, Jack Briggs, NYU, Assoc. VP, Emergency Preparedness & Continuity, will discuss cyber from an operational point of view and its ties to crisis management.

Maj. Gen. Briggs retired from the Air Force in 2017. His last position was the Director of Operations for Headquarters U.S Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. The Directorate of Operations serves as the principal adviser to the USNORTHCOM Commander on all operational matters, providing strategic guidance to plan and execute NORTHCOM missions within the area of responsibility; including Land, Maritime, and Homeland Defense Air Operations as well as Defense Support to Civil Authorities.

In his current role, Briggs is responsible for organizing, integrating, and executing the University’s Emergency Management and Continuity Programs, a Communications Center, a Global Security Operations Center, Fire Safety, and security for NYU’s Global Academic Centers. This includes building relationships, programs and processes with schools, departments and organizations across the global NYU enterprise.
