When did you know you wanted this job?

Actually, I fell into this job. I was working as  production control analyst and asked if I could participate in their 48 hour test and I loved it. It was fun.

What was your first “win” that made you confident that you were doing the right thing?

My first 84 DR test where I was the manager of it and it was a success. It was better organized than it had been before and I got a lot of compliments.

What did you do at work yesterday? 

We have meetings from the night shift to determine issues that have occurred in the past 24 hours or any follow-up on other issues. We then have a meeting to discuss these and upcoming changes for the day and week. After that, my teams meet to work on projects that are ongoing and future projects. Jobs abend and need resolution in both distributed and mainframe world.   We normally have audit deliverables either within our department or externally.

How did you set yourself apart from others who wanted the same job?

I am focused on what I do and put 100% into getting what I am given. I work hard to keep track of my responsibilities and willing to take the failures as well as the successes.

How do you, your team or company define success?

In my area, our success comes from positive feedback from our clients or teammates on any process change or work we complete for them.  rom a testing perspective, did we achieve what we set out to do? Can I recover the business/data center as outlined? What did we learn from it and can we ‘fix’ that for other tests?
