
The latest survey from global information technology research and advisory company Gartner and the Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP) reports on gender diversity in the business continuity management (BCM) profession. The survey results were based on responses from the ACP’s membership.
Roberta Witty, a Gartner Research Vice President, who is part of the Risk and Security Management Programs group, recently penned ‘Women’s Future in BCM Requires Innovation, Collaboration and Adaptability Capabilities, and Professional Respect From Management’ for the Gartner Blog Network.
In discussing the key findings from the survey, Witty pointed out that female survey respondents’ BCM professional experience has been marked by complexity, accomplishment, and hardship, including 50% of those respondents agreeing that women have experienced gender discrimination.
