Next time you type out a website, beware of a common mistake that all of us have made – typos. Domain hacks are on the rise and ICANN (The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is sounding the alarm that these incidents should be taken very seriously.

Look-alike domains are being purchased by cybercriminals at a rapid rate in the hopes of tricking the unsuspecting into downloading malware. Internet users go to countless sites as part of their daily work routines. Hackers are taking advantage of this situation with these domains that have subtle changes that are hard to notice. Think replacing the letter “O” with a zero and you’ll quickly understand the risks.
