Continuity Insights Management Conference

Strategies for the ultimate resilient organization, giving back to the community through Continuity Cares, high-level networking, and the exchange of strategies and ideas were all on display this week at the 2019 Continuity Insights Management Conference.

Continuity Insights concluded its 17th annual conference at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, New Orleans, Louisiana, combining more than 75 sessions focusing on strategies for the ultimate resilient organization with the spirit of volunteerism and some relaxing fun and games.

The conference attracted more than 500 attendees, industry experts, thought leaders, and vendor representatives. Conferees exchanged insights and ideas on critical issues affecting both veteran business continuity practitioners and professionals coming up through the ranks.

Session tracks dedicated to case studies, emerging issues, professional development, program development & advancement, measurement/metrics/maturity, trending topics, and “ask the experts” panel discussions provided attendees with lessons learned and key takeaways from experienced business continuity professionals responsible for the integrity, availability, resilience, and security of their organizations.

The event also incorporated Continuity Insights’ annual “Continuity Cares” initiative, during which conference attendees, speakers, and suppliers came together on Saturday, April 13 to give back to the community and touch the lives of those in need.

This year’s event was conducted in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a non-profit organization whose mission is, “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.”

Joining in on the collaborative volunteer effort were corporate sponsor Fusion Risk Management and the New Orleans Fire Department, which provided the use of one of the city’s firehouses as the workshop for the event. Our volunteers built 25 sets of bunk beds for deserving families in the New Orleans area.

On Saturday April 13, 2019, our volunteers, in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Fusion Risk Management, and the New Orleans Fire Department, will be building bunk beds for deserving families. As the 17th annual conference’s high-level educational experience continued, those in attendance also took a much-deserved break from the intense learning exchange to have some fun and unwind during “A Night on the Lanes,” where conferees engaged in some healthy competition and comradery participating a bowling match, a pinpoint darts challenge, bocci, shuffleboard, and while enjoying some light food and drink.

The conference kicked-off on Sunday evening with the presentation of the Business Continuity Institute’s 2019 BCI Americas Awards Reception where conferees eased into the three days of information exchange in a relaxed atmosphere to begin sharing BC tips, insights, and ideas.

Attendees also spent time in the exhibit hall during the week, meeting with 50 technology and service providers, and exploring the latest solutions for business continuity planning and program development, disaster recovery, and enterprise risk management.

The 2020 Continuity Insights Management Conference (#CIMCSanAntonio2020) is scheduled for April 20-22 at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort, San Antonio, TX. Visit www.continuityinsights.com/events for news and updates.
