Pandemic Influenza Planning to Be Discussed at ACP/NY Metro Chapter November Meeting

The New York City Metro ACP Chapter has announced that Pandemic Influenza Planning in New York Citywill be the topic of discussion at its November 2019 meeting. The session will take place on Thursday, November 21, 2019 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at MLMIC Insurance Company, 2 Park Avenue, New York, NY.

During this presentation, Jessica Cole, Senior Incident Specific Planner for the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response (OEPR) at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), will discuss historical information about pandemics, how the health department and city will respond, and some of the things to keep in mind when organizations look at their own planning efforts.

In her role with OEPR, Cole is responsible for the coordination of planning for a wide variety of possible public health-related threats. Previously, she was the Agency’s Pandemic Influenza Coordinator where she was responsible for the planning and revision of the Agency’s pandemic plan. Prior to her positions at DOHMH, Mrs. Cole was an Adjunct Professor in emergency management, a pandemic planner for a major financial institution, risk management consultant, and pandemic program manager for a private medical services company in addition to working for 4 years as an investigator for NYC’s Department of Investigation.
