Alertus Releases New Chrome Extension for Desktop Alerting

Alertus Technologies LLC, a leading mass notification and critical communication solutions provider, announced it is adding a new product to its portfolio of IP-based mass notification solutions. Alertus Desktop™ for Chrome will offer many of the powerful and popular features of Alertus Desktop™ as a Chrome extension, enabling organizations and institutions to deploy and leverage desktop alerting with more ease and flexibility to meet today’s rapidly-changing education and workplace environments.

“Communication is more important than ever as schools and businesses navigate day-to-day changes,” said Amanda Sassano, Senior Director of Sales at Alertus. “Many institutions and organizations found themselves in an entirely different environment nearly overnight, with little or no tools in place to get critical information to everyone, whether on campus, in the office, or at home. Alertus Desktop for Chrome gives customers the flexibility to deploy desktop alerting remotely, and in a way that best suits their needs.”

Alertus Desktop for Chrome is a browser-based desktop alerting application that pushes full screen, pop up, and ticker alerts on Chromebooks or computers running Chrome browsers. Users can directly install the solution from the Chrome Web Store, or an organization can push the extension to all organizational computers using G Suite or Group Policy. Users do not have to opt-in or subscribe to receive messages, making it easy to get up and running.

Desktop alerting is a reliable and effective method to ensure the intended audience receives emergency or critical information. Alerts can’t be lost in email inboxes or ignored — acknowledgment buttons and robust reporting gives insight into message delivery and receipt. From morning announcements to emergency office closures, COVID protocols, and routine reminders, desktop alerting is an efficient and cost-effective mass notification solution.
