4th Edition Coronavirus Organizational Preparedness Report

The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) has announced the release of the 4th edition of the BCI Coronavirus Organizational Preparedness Report. The report details BCI members’ and industry professionals’ input which builds a global picture of the impact of the pandemic on organizations and their reaction to it.

As the impact of the pandemic begins to plateau in some countries, and management anticipate a return to a version of ‘business as usual,” the 4th edition has an added new section that examines how organizations are approaching the recovery phase. The first results are starting to show signs of long-term COVID-19 induced change in a post-pandemic world.

There are signs that some of the pandemic-imposed changes will become permanent. For example, the technology used to enable Work-from-Home solutions has increased, rather than reduced productivity. Management may find such unexpected benefits hard to let go.

It also appears that the direct experience of management and staff through the COVID-19 lockdown has increased the visibility of business continuity and resilience practices.
