This year alone, 18 weather-related disasters costing $1 billion or more have hit the United States according to the latest report from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Centers for Environmental Information. Through the first nine months of the year, we’re on pace to have one of the most active and costliest for disasters.
