Continuity Insights Management Conference

Are you looking for exciting opportunities to network and collaborate with fellow resiliency professionals in Ohio? The Association of Continuity Professionals has the place for you.

Shortly after approval by ACP’s National Board of Directors, the ACP of Ohio chapter was launched in early 2019. The chapter is led by local industry leaders: James Knox, MBCP AFBCI of Marathon Petroleum, is Chapter President; Darren Sliwinski, CBCP of US Bank, serves as Chapter Treasurer; and Chris Schmidt of Progressive Insurance, is Chapter Secretary.

Recognizing the extraordinary amount of knowledge and talent across it members, ACP Ohio wants continuity professionals to be part of the conversation – sharing knowledge and best practices while supporting each other’s professional development. ACP Ohio is extending an open invitation to attend one of its monthly meetings.

The Ohio chapter represents one of many National chapters inspiring resiliency-based professional networking and education groups and meets every other month, generally in the Columbus, Ohio area.  The cost is minimal to join but your invited to attend the first meeting free!

The ACP is a trade association whose members work in business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, continuity of operations, emergency management/preparedness and related resilience disciplines. ACP is committed to the growth of the resilience industry and shaping and supporting the global community of resilience practitioners.

More News About the ACP’s New Ohio Chapter
Earlier this year, the ACP National Board of Directors approved the petition of ACP of Ohio to become the Association’s 34th national chapter. The Board’s Chapter Development Committee Co-Chair David Sayles presented the case on behalf of the new chapter to elevate the group from Emerging Chapter to full Chapter status. “It was impressive to see the way James Knox and his team moved quickly through the process,” said Sayles. “They very much wanted to be a part of ACP and, naturally, we are thrilled to have them.”

“I want to thank David and James for working together diligently to make ACP of Ohio a reality,” said ACP National Chair Scott Ream. “It gives us a valuable presence in Ohio and a better opportunity to serve business continuity professionals and all resilience practitioners on a National level,” he added.

James Knox, who spearheaded the Chapter initiative, will serve as its founding President. He is joined on the Executive Committee by Secretary Chris Schmidt Sr. and Treasurer Darren Sliwinski. Knox thanked the National Board for its support and said he “looks forward to continuing to build the Chapter and connecting members with national resources and opportunities.
