The New York City Office of Emergency Management has assembled a quick-reference Disaster Preparedness Guide for Businesses that outlines five simple, yet key steps for businesses to follow to ensure that organizations continue to operate during and after an emergency.
The five steps include: understand the hazards; plan to stay in business; talk to your employees; protect your investment; and know how to respond.
The guide also includes an emergency reference card to be filled out individually for each organization. While the guide was developed for New York City, the information easily customizable for any organization in any geographic location.
